Dia de Accion de Gracias

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Thanksgiving

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

A quick post for our friends, families, and others concerning our Thanksgiving dinner. It was an all day cookingstravaganza here. Our menu consisted of Turkey (of course), cranberry sauce, potatoes au gratin, rolls, slow-roasted tomatoes, a white wine, and to top it all off a grape and blueberry parfait. Yes, all this for two people. And we could probably repost this once a day for the next 20 days to describe that day’s dinner.

On the upside the meal was delicious.  All the recipes were straight out of Cooking Light magazine.  We’ve posted a few photos below.  Hope everyone else had a good Thanksgiving!

This Weekend’s Deliciousness!!

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

The topic of this article is the Amaretto Apple Streusel Cupcakes we made yesterday. I threw in the pizza since it was also part of the meal, but I don’t think any of us need a blog to tell us how incredibly satisfying a pure pepperoni pizza can be. That said, on to the dessert. We got the recipe from (as always) Cooking Light Magazine. The online version of the recipe can be viewed here.

The Dessert!

Skinning our Word Press Blog: a “Banana Cake Simplicity”

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Part of our website “housekeeping”, or more like, the reason for it, was to update our site to be more web 2.0. This included setting up a blog and connecting it to our site. Matt very quickly found a way to bring the latest postings to our homepage (check the posting), however skinning the blog took us more time. But here it is!

Tarte Tatin

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

A quick post to share my love for Tarte Tatin.  I admittedly type this better than I pronounce it, and as such decided an all text blog would be an appropriate medium to share this delicious dessert.
This was all Adri’s creation courtesy of Cooking Light magazine.  The recipe, for those interested, can also be found on cookinglight.com.

Fairly easy recipe, I suppose.  Adri can maybe follow up with more on difficulty and process.  Nonetheless, I did eat it, and as such find myself qualified to speak for taste.  Delicious after or before meals, nice crispy crust that doesn’t get mushy after a day in the fridge, and between two people lasts a few days.

Apologies for the blurry photo on the left.  My Art Director wife, Adriana, isn’t too keen on my inability to hold a camera steady and my unconscious need to take pictures in front of a window with flash.

Conclusion – pictures, not that great – Tarte Tatin, delicious!
